I'm not sure whether this is expected behaviour or a bug. Feels like a bug to me.. :(

In the latest version (7.11) - though may have been previous, when I drag and drop upload a file to a media folder. Say for example, I upload an image called catz4.jpg. The routed public url to the image is saved as

http://localhost.alloy/globalassets/catz4jpg

which is missing the dot in the extension. Is this expected? You can edit the Name in Url field to explicitly have the dot, and the file still resolves correctly.

Does anybody else see this?
