Event causing 800 request per minute for 10 hours - IEventReplication.RaiseEvent

Hi there, 

In our monitoring (NewRelic) we are seeing an event called 

EPiServer.Events.ServiceModel.IEventReplication.RaiseEvent

It makes about 800 requests per minute, and lasts for about 10 hours during the afternoon/evening.

Does anyone know why this might be? 

The event is causing high CPU so we would like to disable it if possible.

Sounds like this bug in CMS.Core 10.0 through 10.3
