Duplicate ImageVault instance

Hi, we have an EPi 6 site that will be replaced by a new EPi 7 site soon. The EPi 6 site is currently running ImageVault 3, and the EPi 7 site will run ImageVault 4. Both sites will need to run simultaneously for a few weeks, so we need the old site to keep working with IV 3 as usual. My thinking was to duplicate site and the existing IV 3 instance and let that run as usual, and then upgrade the other IV 3 instance to IV 4. Are there any gotchas I need to be aware of or would this be the simplest way? (Obviously any images added during the time both sites are live will only be added to the site they were uploaded in.)

Hi!

There is no upgrade per se from ImageVault 3 to 4.What you do is install a new empty instance of ImageVault 4 on EPiServer 7, and use the migration tool to copy data and files from the old installation of ImageVault to the new one.

You can find more information here, http://imagevault.se/en/documentation/api-documentation/?page=migration/index.html and here http://blog.imagevault.se/post/54912723159/migration-tool-for-imagevault-4-is-now-available
