Migrating links in custom property types

Will the migration tool understand links inside custom property types based on LongString? My 4.62 site has a custom property type very similar to LinkCollection, where links (a elements) are contained in an xml root. Will the migration tool go inside this "alien" element and migrate the links?

I assume that with migrating links you mean converting them into permanent links.
As far as I know, only xhtml properties support permanent links. When starting the migration tool you should get an option to convert all LongString properties into xhtml.
Not sure if that would solve it, I guess you have to test and see
