EPiServer out of the box properties

Vote:

Hi,

When you create a Page of PageType, EPiServer gives you some out of the box properties, e.g. 'Page name in web address', and some other ones (usually placed in the 'Advanced Information' tab). Is there a way I can move those properties to a different tab, a tab that I have created myself, a custom tab? Is this possible?

If this isn't available in CMS 5 R2, is this a feature that is included in CMS 6?

Thanks,

Edon

Hi!

See the following blog post from Henrik Nyström that deals with this: http://thisisnothing.wordpress.com/2010/04/09/modify-the-built-in-episerver-properties/

Thanks Linus, I saw that and got it on my website, but I am not sure how will this affect the performance of my site, or what are the cons of using that method. What should I look out for when adapting DLL's from external sources, is the dll on that site considered as an external plug-in to EPiServer?

Also on that note, is there a way I can change the type or the name of the buil-in properties? This sounds like a separate issue.

Name can be changes in the lang/ files

the type you can't change but you could use this

http://labs.episerver.com/en/Blogs/Anders-Hattestad/Dates/2009/2/PropertyDate-and-editores-in-different-TimeZone/

if its the date property you want to change
