I have seen it working in the past on this site as well however it no longer works. Is this an issue anyone else has had is it a bug?

I am unable to reproduce the problem as per your repro steps. I would try it on a plain 6R2 site in the same envrionment. Any customized hotfix installed ? Check the assembly file version for EPiServer.dll and EPiServer.UI.dll in GAC (c:\windows\assembly\ ) and in site bin folder ?

Having a little issue with page compare in episerver6r2. So when I pick a language in Page view lets say spanish then in page compare i pick Turkish in both panes in preview i see spanish. If i swap round then pick turkish in page view and spanish in page compare i see turkish in both pages. This true for any language combination which ever language is picked first that is the one that shows in both panes.
Anyone else seen this before?
