EPiServer 7 Connect for SharePoint

Today we are releasing EPiServer 7 Connect for SharePoint.  This module integrates SharePoint 2013, 2010 or 2007 with EPiServer 7 CMS and lets you combine the strengths of each system – document collaboration using SharePoint and multi-channel delivery, test and optimization using EPiServer CMS.

About the SharePoint connector

The connector allows you to bring your SharePoint assets online in a very straightforward way. You can publish content from your SharePoint collaboration platform to your website by adding assets to a library, and it will automatically publish to your website. The connector ensures that you always have the latest version of the SharePoint documents online, no copies are created along the way, and it is all done in real-time.

It is also possible to publish library items and list items from SharePoint to EPiServer. Changes to items in SharePoint will automatically be reflected in EPiServer. The new version has added support for making SharePoint Site Pages available in EPiServer, a much-requested feature. If you want to go the other way around, displaying EPiServer content inside SharePoint, that is also supported by the connector with prebuilt Web Parts that you can add to your SharePoint installation.

This overview illustrates how it all works:

Features

Push to CMS

  • Easily allow SharePoint users to publish content to pre-configured EPiServer CMS content channels.
  • Push library items, list items and site pages from SharePoint to EPiServer CMS. Changes to items in SharePoint will automatically be reflected in EPiServer CMS.

File integration

  • Manage files (create, read, update and delete) stored in SharePoint, from within EPiServer CMS.
  • Make SharePoint files and documents instantly available to the website once they are stored in SharePoint.
  • Work with versioning of library items including check-in/check-out features.
  • Integrated security allows authenticated users to only access documents they have permissions to.

Web parts for SharePoint

  • Display EPiServer CMS content lists and details with the ease of adding web parts to your SharePoint site.

The following example shows a collaboration area in SharePoint 2013. A new whitepaper around social e-commerce is made available online by adding it to the document library:

Since the document library is synchronized using the connector, it immediately becomes available in the File Manager in EPiServer CMS and can be used for drag-and-drop, permanent links, download tracking etc.

Hi, I have the same question. Does it work with CMS 7.5 and above?
