Optimizely London developer meetup 2026: a round up

Well, what can I say?

Last night we wrapped up! Yet another London Developer Meetup, hosted at the superb Lightwell venue

And this is also a celebration of my 10th year of co-hosting/hosting this meetup, something that has been very dear to my heart because of my love of the Optimizely community. It's always been the greatest of pleasures to organise these and help people get together, because the people I've met, the friends I've made, and the conversations we've had over a couple of beers have always made everything seem more vibrant and exciting and have really made my life so much better. Thank you to everyone who's been to any of these and connected with me. You're all amazing.

So the night, we had a great packed line up of talks

So we kicked off with a bit of an intro and a retro from myself and Mark, talking a little bit about where we were ten years ago and sharing a number of photos!

As a really touching point, our Niteco UK/US leader and friend Mark Welland (https://www.linkedin.com/in/markwelland/) arranged a couple of videos to celebrate my 10 years from Patrick Lam https://www.linkedin.com/in/patrickpclam/ Nicola Ayan (https://www.linkedin.com/in/nicolaayan/) and the big dog and CEO of Optimizely Alex Atzberger (https://www.linkedin.com/in/aatzberger/)

these are all such lovely videos, and it was really, really kind of everyone to put together such touching thoughts. It really meant the world to me.

And then we had all of the talks. Every single one of the talks was well thought out, well presented, and engaging, and I want to thank every single one of the speakers. Rather than recap it all here, you can actually view the recorded and live streamed output masterfully created by my good friend Jacob Pretorius (https://www.linkedin.com/in/jacobpretorius/) here

and also a big thank you to Techspace and the amazing food spread that they put on. We've been coming here a number of years, and it really is a great venue. Also, thank you so much to Satata (https://www.linkedin.com/in/satatasatez/). Patrick and Shamim (https://www.linkedin.com/in/shamim605/) for helping organise this and a big thank you to every one of the speakers today.

Thanks everyone for attending, and I look forward to next year.
