Page Indexing for Search

Vote:

Should Pages (by default) be able to be indexed for internal search? Our business is running into issues where only Article Pages are indexed for internal search. We thought maybe we could use the Article Page to build out all of our pages, but those pages require Author and Date, which won’t work for certain pages, such as help/customer service pages.

Does anyone have an idea for solutions?

Hi, Staci,

Something is definitely off. With default implementation from AlloyTech templates, you should be able to search through any PageData, not only ArticlePage-s.

If you can share your code that performs the search, perhaps we would be able to spot what is wrong.

How about running a re-index job?

Thank you all for commenting. We are working with a third party that is doing the development, so I do not have the code to share. We did ask them to make the general page template searchable as well, so that should solve the problem.

Thanks again!
