Users losing Group membership

Are the users still considered "logged in" when this occurs? Is it always the same users that's affected and others are not?
An httpModule may attach to the same request events as EPiServer itself does, and may of course cause conflicts with episerver's own user management. Im not saying that this is the case with InstantASP, just that it is possible.

We are having a strange problem whilst using InstantASP Forum functionality within an EPiServer web-site.
From time to time, certain users lose all their group memberships, whether they or anyone else are or are not using the InstantASP Forum pages.
Part of the InstantASP installation procedure consists of adding HTTPModule entries to web.config, but surely this couldn't affect the EPiServer users?
The web-site in question is running 4.62B on Windows Server 2003.
Has anyone else encountered this sort of problem?
