As far as i can tell you could just switch to .net 4.5 in your project properties window. VS will change the target framework in web.config. then compile and run the website. CMS 7 is using .net 4 when you start a new project so you will need todo the same for that version. Make sure you also have the update for .net framework installed on the server.
I am planning to use .NET 4.5 with EPiServer CMS 6 R2. We are currently using .NET 4.0 with EPiServer CMS 6 R2. Are there any issues with combining .NET 4.5 with EPiServer CMS 6 R2 and is there any documentation on how it is done? We do not want to upgrade to CMS 7 now for a variety of reasons, mostly the work effort required to convert our custom code.
