The admin section is shown above, note that the path may vary. You may need to do the same for edit, also.
2. Make your users members of WebAdmins and WebEditors as well as your groups.
Ideally, the WebEditors and WebAdmins groups shouldn't have rights to any pages - these should be assigned by your groups and the WebAdmins, WebEditors groups should just be used to control access to edit / admin modes. I think the reason these groups have access rights in the sample site is just to make it easier to configure
