There's a known issue that we missed some organization info (Name, Description) and contact when posting via ServiceAPI. We created a story to improve ServiceAPI, that will be implemented soon.
About Metafields, we now support catalog contents like Node, Entry, and not support for organization, contact and address. Can you give more detail about your need of meta fields?

We use Metadata on Customer as well.
What we will do, is calling the ERP Webservice instead. And only use Service API for category and products.
But it is important that you have focus on API, as it is a must in the mordern world.
Besides all fields in organization, contact and address, also Metadata and user account creating is important.
But it in another way. All you can do in backend, should be possible in API.

I am about to create customers via Service API, but I am missing some fields on Organization level, like name?
And how do you access Metafields?
The documentation is not clear on this.
