Federated security

Vote:

Hi,

I have configured an EPiServer site with Federated security, as described in http://world.episerver.com/documentation/Items/Developers-Guide/EPiServer-CMS/75/Security/federated-security/

The site also have ImageVault and all requests to /ImageVault results in 401 responses with this configuration.

Does anyone know what changes that has to be done, to make ImageVault work with Federated security configured as described in the document?

Hi!
We have not tested the EPiServer federated security configuration in combination with ImageVault so I have currently no easy answer for you.
In general, the ImageVault UI is a separate asp.net site. It is autoconfigured to work inline with the EPiServer site without extra configuration when using forms or windows auth.
If you use Federated authentication on the EPiServer site then the ImageVault UI site does not automatically support this configuration out of the box and you need to configure the ImageVault UI site just like you do with any asp.net site to support Federated Authentication.
You could use Microsoft WIF to implement a Fed auth configuration for an asp.net site

As of ImageVault v4.7 we now support a pluggable security module that you can implement to support any authentication and lookup that you need.

We supply modules for standard windows/forms authentication and for Federated authentication using an Azure AD.

More modules will be added and you can also implement you own.

Could not find any version 4.7 to be downloaded from the site.

Is there any release date for 4.7 of ImageVault?
