Hi Valdis.
Yes, we have used your proposed solution earlier. I would love to see something like that included out of the box, so we won't have to extend the default DOJO modules on a regular basis (and potentially be hit hard by platform breaking changes).

It would be great if Episerver editors could easily see which content types a specific content area is restricted too. It's of course helpful with the visual feedback during DnD, but it would be even more intuitive if a tool-tip or similar could provide the list of types supported. Our clients are especially needing this in Episerver Commerce, where the Local Blocks aren't supported.
We would like this to be supported out-of-the-box instead of being required to extend default Content Area DOJO.
