How to use a dojox widget in EPiServer

Hello everyone,
I am new to dojo and don't understand the syntax yet.
I have found this dojox widjet for a colour picker: http://dojotoolkit.org/reference-guide/1.9/dojox/widget/ColorPicker.html.
How do I now use it in EPiServer? How do I reference it? Do I somehow need to convert it to a custom control? Are there links which would explain the most basics of dojo syntax?
For example, I am looking at the built-in EPiServer ColourPalette control and I don't see the connection with the dojox widget http://dojotoolkit.org/reference-guide/1.10/dojox/color/Palette.html#color-palettes-based-on-color-theory-models. Or are they completely unrelated and just happen to have the same name?
