E-Commerce with Multi site ??

We have start explore about E-Commerce Multisite.We are familiar with CMS.But new to Commerce. Is there possible to build the E-Commerce with MultiSite for different vendors? We are trying to get references/docs. But as of now, we can not reach the elaborate documents with references.

Kindly help us regarding this with your suggestions and send as the related refs/documents.

If you only need "multi-site" from end-user perspective (i.e. the customers see multiple domain, but in the backend, the customers, orders,... are shared), then it can be done by having multple catalogs, and each site will use its catalog. You can even further distinct between sites by having different cart name for each site (By default it's "Default", but you can have "SiteA", "SiteB", etc.)
