Hi You're correct, the option to delete a language from the start page is disabled. The start page is handled as a special page, for instance are you not able to delete it. Whether or not you should be able to delete a language from the start page can be up for discussion, but in the current design you can't. I would not recommend doing anything directly in the database. Instead you can work around it by temporarily changing the sites start page to another page. Then go in and remove the language from the original start page. When that is done, set the start page back to the original one.
