404 error when viewing site

Hi Guys,

I'm just trying to setup the trial and am almost there. I have the SQL providers setup and working and i can log into the admin area.

My problem is when i try to view the site i get a 404 error for the url /default.aspx

I have episerver setup on my developer machine running winodws XP, IIS6, .net 2 and SQLEXPRESS.

Looking in IIS the wildcard mapping seems to be setup correctly however i just don't seem to be able to view the site.

Can anyone offer any advice as i really want to get this running so i can try it out.

Many thanks

Matt

Change customErrors to off in your web.config (both in episerver-area and .net-default), then you'll see some better error-handling.

Have you installed the base templates btw?

Hey Erik,

Changing custom errors didn't seem to tell me anything more. I hadn't installed the base templates so tried but it got worse. I decided to do a new install and it all now seems to work.

Thanks for you help and speedy reply.

Matt
