Move properties from pagetype to block

Is there any way to move/migrate properties from one pagetype to a block and keep the data?

I am upgrading a site from 6 R2 to 7 and on some pagetypes I would like to group some properties together in a block to enhance the userexprience for the editors.

Afraid not. I would handle it programmatically. That is add the block type and property and then write some run-once-code that moves the values.

You could in theory fiddle with the data in the database as well but I wouldn't recommend it.

I suggest should not do that, EPiServer 7 doesn't support the collection of the block at the moment, I've asked them, no response so far.
