I assume you are already aware of the standard form template based on XForms in CMS, this comes with the standard installation of EPiServer CMS 5. This page template can be used as a foundation to develop simple web polls, and also has a basic view statistics function.

Andrea - where can I find information about how to create a poll? I cannot find it in the Editor's manual.

General information on how to work with forms as an editor, and create simple forms such as polls, can be found at the very end (page 111 in the Swedish version) of the EPiServer CMS 5 Editor Manual available at http://world.episerver.com/Documentation/Items/Manuals/EPiServer-CMS/Editor-Manuals---EPiServer-CMS-5-R2/  This information is based on the public form template, available for EPiServer CMS 5.

There is also plenty of articles and tech notes, and blog and forum posts about developing forms, available on EPiServer World. Search for "forms" or "XForms" for instance.

Check out the below post from Erik Nordin. It's about how you can use xforms to store your own values. Note that you don't have to create any "fields" in the xform it is enough with an empty form.
