How to create a MultiSelect option in a CMS-12 Visitor-Group Criterion?

In CMS-11 i was able to create a multi-select option in a visitir group criterion in this way:

But in Optimizely(CMS 12) DojoWidget is deprecated and must be replaced with CriterionPropertyEditor. But how i can enable this multi-select option then?

After AFORM-2810 was implemented multi step forms are always scrolled into focus on page load

We have a fairly long page with a form about half way down. This form was recently changed to use multiple steps which caused the form to always be focused on page load.

I hadn't seen this before so I tried downgrading to a previous version of forms and a short bisect later I found that it seems to have been introduced in 5.6.0, most likely with the issue AFORM-2810.

This issue introduced a call to $("[data-f-datainput]", eStep).first().focus(); in navigateToStep which is called on page load. I'm guessing this side effect was missed while testing since it only happens if the form is not in the viewport when the page loads.

Even if the page is in the viewport on load this focus stealing behaviour is bad since someone navigating primarily with the keyboard will miss out on everything that is above the form.

Best practice for content validation with IValidate and IContentSaveValidate

I am seeking advice on how to best implement custom validation logic on a custom page content instance (but the same may apply to all other content data as well I think). The documentation section Validate object instances (optimizely.com) list two main hooks that can be used for this: IValidate<T> and IContentSaveValidate<T>

My environment:

EPiServer CMS 11.x
Auto-save in CMS is enabled, so save events are periodically fired when changes to properties are noticed by the application.

My goal:

Ideally I would like to prevent the save from being commited to the data store, but my experiments have shown that this is easier said than done. This leads me to the questions that emerged when experimenting with the validation infrastructure.

My questions:

Implementing IValidate<T> let's the validator run every time an instance of T is saved. Any validation errors do not prevent the instance from being saved, but prevent it from being saved. Is there any way to configure this behaviour to cancel the save operation?
I know that you can hook into the content events, e.g SavingContent, SavedContent etc. However I have not found a way to access validation results there. I could manually run validation again by calling the IValidationService.Validate method, but this would execute validation two times. First one triggered by the framework, second one triggered manually. Is there any suggested way to better hook into this process?
I have observed that implementations of IContentSaveValidate<T> are not triggered automatically on content saving, but on content publishing. What is the reasoning behind this? The example at IContentSaveValidate - validation with context | Optimizely Devel suggest that this interface is useful during all state transitions, but it seems to be only called on publishing. Is there any suggested way of calling this interface manually?

epi-create-block not presented in TinyMCE options

We are running EPiServer.CMS.TinyMCE 4.6.0 and are trying to add the new epi-create-block toolbar configuration, which is not working as intended. The options is not displayed with the following configuration:

When we disable the custom extension of the configuration for Standard Page with the above setting, the default Optimizely TinyMCE configuration kicks in, except the epic-create-block here aswell.

Is there a mismatch in version in terms of dependencies or similiar?

Duplicate "All Properties" link in EditUI

Does anyone have any thoughts on what might be causing the "All Properties" view option to be duplicated in the "Select View" dropdown?

It doesn't happen for the start pages, or pages right under the root, but anything nested lower have the duplicate.

I know it's something that we have done by accident, but I can't find it anywhere.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

OrderByDescending of Search and Navigation does not work as expected in cms 12

To display a list of pages, we built up a query and following is a part of it.

blogsQuery = blogsQuery.OrderByDescending(x => x.LikeCount);

Strangely, it does not sort the results in descending order of the likecount.

However, for another filteration, it does work. The difference here is LikeCount probably returns values on the fly. Meaning it's defined as follows in the blog page.

        return LikedUsers?.Count ?? 0;
    }
}

and finally the result retrieved

 var result = blogsQuery.Take(MaximumResultsPerRequest).Skip((pageNum - 1) * MaximumResultsPerRequest).GetContentResult();

Is this a limitation of Search and Navigation ? Is there a workaround ?

@Html.TextBoxFor OR @Html.TextBox on viewcomponent (block) generating name with both contentarea name & currentpage

Hi,

I want to display form via block (viewcomponent), but the form is generating textbox with contentarea & currentpage name.

e.g ->

 @Html.TextBoxFor(x => x.Test.Example, new { @class = "form-control" })

Generates ->

Audiences aka "Visitor Groups" Separated Per Website?

Hi,
we have a global site with a lot of different (language) websites - and connected editors per site, so when using "Audiences", formerly known as "Visitor Groups", it would be ideal for us to have our "Audiences" seperated per language website, e.g. so "AudienceDK" is only visible in www.contoso.dk/episerver/cms and "AudienceSE" is only visible in www.contoso.se/episerver/cms. Is that somehow possible?
If not, what is the best alternative to split audiences visibility between sites?

Episerver Forms: object instance not set to an instance of an object when sending email

We are running the following setup for Optimizely Forms in our clients solution:

EPiServer.Forms.Samples 4.2.2

When we define our forms with a Send email actor in the editorial part of the form and submit a successfull form submission, we receive the following in the logs:

ICatalogSystem SaveCatalogEntry - gives an error CreatedBy for ContentDraft can't be empty

We are in the process of upgrading to CMS 12 and Commerce 14 While trying to import products/delete resources using ICatalogSystem. This was working in 11/13

Now we get an error related to drafts. Looking into the code it looks that a draft is trying to be created in CatalogEntryAdmin

_catalogContentSync.CreateDraft(CurrentDto, PrincipalInfo.CurrentPrincipal.Identity!.Name);

but the PrincipalInfo.CurrentPrincipal.Identity!.Name is null and then the whole metod SaveCatalogEntry fails.

Microsoft.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: 'Cannot insert the value NULL into column 'CreatedBy', table '@ContentDraft'; column does not allow nulls. INSERT fails.
The data for table-valued parameter "@ContentDraft" doesn't conform to the table type of the parameter. SQL Server error is: 515, state: 2
The statement has been terminated.'

I tried adding "DisableVersionSync": "true", in the appsettings. And that kind of worked as it didn't create the draft, but I'm wondering if there are other solutions

Hi,

I'm working in a validator for LinkItem.
It does validate what I want and it works when I'm debugging it.

However it does not work like it should in the CMS.
Instead of showing my warning message, it displays a popup with this text:

Could not save property. The page may have been changed by another user. Please reload the page.

It seems to be something with the scoping, I had the same issue with another validator for an Image block. That did work when the image block was standalone but not when the block was used as a property, and I guess it's the same with the LinkItem property.

Here's how my validator is built:

Extending Content Delivery API classes

Hi, I am building a headless commerce solution using content delivery API.

Is it possible to extend the Content delivery API commerce classes adding my own attributes and fields to it, taking Cart object returned by

https://localhost:8080/api/episerver/v3.0/me/carts/3 for example

the attributes iam trying to add could be added to the cart , line items , shipments or basically any content type retuned by content delivery API

Solution assets images not visible

Hi, I am working on migration from CMS 11 to 12. I had pages confugured with thumbnails - images in the solution.
I had copied them to the new .net6/cms12 solution, set `CopyToOutputDirectory` to Always.

File is there in build result, path seems to be ok, but the image is not shown.

Is there any additional config required now? Can't find anything in cms 11 solution nor in google 🔎

Hi everyone,

So I am faced with a brick wall regarding the extension of already existing classes ( models)

in my case I need to have my own field to implement specific logic, I want to have the new added fields in the ICart or the Cart data model that I get when using Load() method of the IOrderRepository

I looked into meta classes , and tried using Commerce UI to achieve that, and I got lost trying to connect/attach the meta class to my desired class (Cart class)

So I need help with the following :-

How to create and add new fields to an already existing Class like Cart (ICart) class , programmatically and with UI ? would be massively grateful if the answer was step by step and where to put the code, since with no steps I am just stuck where i was (creating meta class but don't know how to attach it to a specific OrderClass )Comm

How to tell if the current instance is the scheduler app

we are upgrading to CMS 12, previously we used

EPiServer.Configuration.Settings.Instance.EnableScheduler

to tell if the current instance in DXC is the instance running the scheduler, we would like to do the same in the upgrade, but i cant find that property or an alternative in version 12.

Same question has asked about previous versions.

How can we programatically know if this is the instance in DXC running the scheduler.

Azure authenticated user can't preview CMS draft pages

I'm building optimizely headless project with a React front end. I want to switch authentication provider to Azure AD B2B for the CMS admin authorization, everything is working well, but now the admin cannot see the draft (saved) content but can see published content. I found out users need an 'epi_content_management' scope, but in Azure, I can't add it. Any advice on what to do?

Will swapping out IPermanentStorage on the DXP make Forms store data during ZDD readonly deployments?

If we can get something in place like our own CosmosDB resource with MongoDB interface and hook it up like in above docs, can we then deploy with read-only mode and still store form postings? Or could something like form file uploads cause issues?

Anyone have some experiences to share?
