Default to show media in assets pane?

Hi!

 

Our customer is using a lot of pictures, but few or any reusable blocks. Therefore, it is annoying for them that the "assets pane" on the right-hand side of the editor screen always defaults to showing "Blocks". Is there any way to default to show "Media"?

I don't think there is. Maybe post in the Feature Request forum to make it a Media gadget setting?

The long term plan it to merge these two components, and add better filtering/search capabilities. Until then, you can read my blog post about how you can accomplish this.
