EPiServer holds catalog assets in the root folder which may be the reason for site stalls

There is a huge count of accets in the root and site stalls almost every time when it is administrating the ”media”-section. For some reason site always stalls after you upload an image, pdf or any other file. And expanding folders within media can take forever. I would like to know if somebody had the same problem and if there is any way to fix it.

Hi,

Isn't there a setting of basePath in EPiServerFramework.config which allows you to point your catalog assets to virtually anywhere you like?

Thank for your reply. I think it is possible to change directory for file import, but what should be done with assets alredy imported to EPiServer?

I think it's possible to copy blobs folder to another path, then update the path (which will restart the site itself).
