Copy page tree from one language to another

Vote:

Hello everyone,

Is there a well established add-on which would allow to copy the whole page tree from one language to another together with all the blocks on the pages? Or at least can do this on a page by page basis?

Our client's objective is to easily translate their site into up-to 20 languages. It would really slow them down if they had to add all the content and blocks from scratch for each of the pages in a new language.

Best regards,

Dasha Finch

Not that Ive heard about. There are some translation addons but I dont think they will clone blocks etc.

Probably best to build as admin tool that loops through a part of the content tree recursivly and creates new language version with master language as default content

Actually the Semantix translation plugin can export both pages and their blocks from one language branch, and import them as a new language branch.

I've used Semantix for a client site on Episerver 7.5.

Might be worth checking out. http://www.episerver.no/add-on-store/semantix-translations/

I have also found this add-on, called Languages or Language Manager:

http://world.episerver.com/blogs/Dan-Matthews/Dates/2014/4/Auto-translate-using-the-EPiServer-languages-Add-On/

It is available from EPiServer nuget:

https://nuget.episerver.com/en/OtherPages/Package/?packageId=EPiServer.Labs.LanguageManager

It allows to copy a page from its master language into a new language. It copies the contents of the content areas, but you still need to then translate each block within the copied page. I will see if our client is happy with this solution. Need to check out the Semantix add-on as well.

Hi!
Since this post fours years have passed. Does anyone of you know if there are any news on this subject? Any third-party add-on that will clone a page tree and all related content/blocks and create a new designated language tree with related content in the new target language? Any thoughts on this are much appreciated.
Thanks!
