Yes..
I tested it both ways, First I changed the Fall back language on the root page, then I separately changed the fallback language for the required page itself.
Both the cases it cannot work.
According to the user guide "If you define a replacement language for some content, a fallback language does not apply." Could that be the problem?
Does your reply mean that you tried it with and without a replacement language, and it doesn't work no matter what you do?
I didn't use the Replacement language.
I just applied the FallBack Language for a page.
The page wise it worked but the Property wise it doesn't work.
I need to know whether I get the missed property content of the language site by using FallBack language on the Epi CMS.
Hey! Unfortunately I don't have any answers for you now, but I'd suggest to have a moderator move this toic to the CMS forum, since it's more people in that community :) I mostly work with Commerce so I have setup RSS feeds for the Commerce forum, but not any other. I guess people who mostly work with CMS might do the same!
As this thread was already moved (to CMS forum), I removed your other thread.
Oh...
thank you very much, Quan.
I didn't check the CMS forum that's why I posted the question again.
Hi, I don't fully understand your issue since you're using the term 'property'. Fallback is per-page and not per-property. I.e. if you translate a page into spannish, it won't fall back to english content in properties that's not translated yet.
If you want to have fallback per property, you have to develop this yourself.
Ok....
thank you, Johan,
I can develop a functionality and update the missed property values.
But I need to confirm that the Fall Back language functionality in CMS is worked or not. Now, I feel we can't fill the empty property content by using the FallBack Language functionality in CMS itself.
I'm still not sure what your issue is?
If you have fallback Spanish > English and have this structure:
If you then visits /es/landing-page-1/page-2/ does the page load and display the english content? If yes, then fallback is working
Hi, friends thanks for your support...
Johan, I don't have any doubts about fall back language, related to page wise. The entire page content falls back to the English content. It worked without any issue.
But I don't want that, I just fill the empty content of my Spanish site from the fall back language content.
Now I am cleared and developed a new functionality to fill the empty content of my Spanish site from the English content.
thank you.
Just taking a wild guess here. Do you talk about fallback language for product/variant pages? (as you posted this in the commerce forum first)
If so then fallback language doesn't work for products/variants pages and you need to develop your own way to get the fallback values. This is something episerver should fix, and I guess is in their roadmap somewhere :)
Hi Sebastian,
First I wrongly posted my question on Commerce Forum. With the help of Joel, I found the mistake. Then Bob and Quan helped me to post the question on the CMS forum.
My question is not related to Catalog. Its all about the page type and its property.
Thank you.
Hi to all,
I am using Episerver 10 CMS. I have to translate my website into the Spanish language. Now I had only little bit amount of Spanish contents for my site properties. So I used the fallback language settings and set the English language is my Fallback language for Spanish.
But Its not worked. The Spanish property contents are shown empty. The English content may not show for the missed Spanish property values.
I don't know How to solve.
Thanks In advance.
