Service API 500 Error Information

Vote:

Hi Guys,

I've been struggling on how to find the cause of error when I created a product/variant entry using the service API. The exception only gives a generic 500 error with no exact details on why the error occurred. Does anyone here have an idea on how we could retrieve the exact error rather than just a generic 500 error? Thank you.

The following is my code:

        public async Task<string> Post(object payload)
        {
            HttpResponseMessage response = null;
            try
            {
                string json = JsonConvert.SerializeObject(payload);

                response = await HttpClients["myhttpclient"].HttpClient.PostAsync("/episerverapi/commerce/entries", new StringContent(json, Encoding.UTF8, "application/json"));
                response.EnsureSuccessStatusCode();

                return await response.Content.ReadAsStringAsync();
            }
            catch (Exception exception)
            {
                throw;
            }
        }

and this is the generic 500 error:

You can probably look in the log file for more information.
