FYI: EP Research is now working on integration between EPiServer and various business (=financial) systems. The goal is to enable the use of EPiServer for simple reporting and is a part of the EPiFields vision. What we have done now (we have only spent one day of development so far) is to make an integration with the "XOR Compact" system used inside ElektroPost. We purchased the API and made a very simple web service wrapper that allows us to extract financial information in a read-only manner. Inside EPiServer, an editor can define "queries" towards XOR Compact and use them (in the EPiFields drag&drop manner). inside EPiServer pages. By doing this it is now possible to create pages like: *********' Hello ! Our sales this month is , compared to for the same month last year. This is a difference of percent. *********** We made a quick flash movie that is available at http://r.ep.se/epixorcompact One cool thing is that the built-in security model in EPiFields enables security settings on each "query". A user can have read access to a page but lack read access to the actual figures on the page. See http://r.ep.se/templates/Page.aspx?id=4297 for an example. We are also researching graph capabilities to enable EPiServer with a general graph function. Another goal is to make it possible to get the "report pages" emailed within the regular subscription. We have to solve some issues regarding security impersonating first. Our goal is that EPiServer Data Adapters shall be available for all the common systems in at least the Nordic area. In this process we are very eager to help other developers and/or participate in partner projects involving this technology.
