File abstract in PageSearch

Hi! Anyone know of a way to get abstracts from files such as word and PDF included in the searchresult on a PageSearch control? /Linus

Hi! Make sure that the Indexing Service catalog you are using is set to "Generate abstracts". This setting can be found in the catalog's properties. Once the catalog has been updated (not sure if Indexing Service does this immediately/automatically) the summary can be found in the MainIntro property of the PageData object that is wrapping the file hit: <%#Container.CurrentPage["MainIntro"]%> I'm not sure if this will work for PDF files though. I know that Adobe's IFilter is needed to make Indexing Service index the content of PDFs, maybe it allows generation of abstracts as well?
