How to place a hit counter in a page, and generate a "top 5 most read articles" in the main page....

Hi all, I want to place a hit counter in my page to show how many times is this page has been read. I tried to use EPiServer.Global.EPDataFactory.PageFetchDatabaseReads , but I found that the number is not that accurate. And also, there is a column named "Top 5 most read articles" in the main page. I can't figure it out either. Does anyone who have this exprience? I appreciate your help, thanks! Regards,
