Why not go the responsive way? And optimize the current website.

I would also go with a responsive design over choosing mobilepack. 

+1 for responsive design.  A year ago when MobilePack came out, there was a real debate about having a dedicated mobile site as opposed to responsive design.  Since then, responsive has emerged as the clear winner.  I think MobilePack is neat, but more or less obsolete now, through no fault of its own. That's just the way the industry went.

A full responsive design might not always be the answer, sometimes it makes more sense to implement custom mobile templates. A few thing that i would put under the "cons" section of MobilePack: poor device detection, duplicate content structure, navigation that tries to simulate an iOS App.
