There is always a public path to the uploaded files and if you have set the access on that tree folder, and also published the file you can add the link to it from anywhere.
The path to it is found the same place as where you open your content in edit mode (Edit the file and then iup in the right on the button alternitive you will found something like download this file link)
Thanks for your reply on this.
Could you please suggest a link or url that explains the same as mentioned in your reply. I've created a media folder under media and uploaded an image file. I couldn't see the public path of uploaded image file to access within any standalone application and not sure where to see the access on the folder that i created.
Please suggest me to proceed on this.
Suresh,
I suggest the following section of the user guide, and the 3 sections below it, to get an overview of how users interact with assets: http://webhelp.episerver.com/latest/platform/assets.htm.
To learn how developers work with assets in the CMS, see http://world.episerver.com/documentation/developer-guides/CMS/Content/assets-and-media2/ and its subtopics.
If an application would want to use an image/PDF file that was uploaded in EPI CMS as like In Ektron CMS, uploaded files saved into server uploadedimage/uploadefile directory and the file path can be referenced within any applications. Is there any option in EPI the uploaded media file path can be referenced simply within any application ?
I am new to episerver cms, so any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
