CMS 6R2 + IE 11 problems

Hi all,

is there a Wiki type of documentation for fixing CMS 6R2 to support IE 11? I think there should be...

Currently there is an increasing amount of customers reporting about misc problems, most of them are about misbehaving Edit-mode.

Yes, I know that using IE 11 with CMS 6R2 is not officially supported BUT customers do not have a choice (browsers are updated automatically, different browser is not an option etc)

Most urgent problems are with

  • missing buttons (aligned to somewhere out of screen)
  • missing file manager button icons (buttons visible, but no idea which button is which) - for example File manager
  • missing top left EPi toolbar buttons totally

Any of the following is required: (editors)

  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 11 – on-page editing disabled

So it should be officially supported if you install the latest version of 6R2

So if you have the latest and greatest of EPiServer 6R2 and still not working, report it as a bug...

Doesn't sound like something a developer should solve...

Hi again,

this thread seems to be about the issues we're having:

http://world.episerver.com/forum/developer-forum/EPiServer-CMS-6-R2/Thread-Container/2014/5/IE11---missing-toolbar-in-edit-mode/

This also explains why this does not appear in every case -> it apparently depends on the hardware..

If the browser definition file can be used to fix this, it would be nice have it...

Any other ways to fix this?

Install a blank demo site and steal it from there? Then you can check if that works as well...
