Status on support for .NET 6 minimal hosting model with CMS 12

Hi!

I found this case in the forums with information that Optimizely does not yet support the new hosting model introduced in .NET 6

What is the status on this issue? CMS not supporting the new hosting model is causing me problems when attempting to run UI tests using WebApplicationFactory and Optimizely CMS.

Dojo error in CMS edit mode on a specific page after CMS 12 upgrade.

Hello all,

We did an upgrade from CMS 11 to 12 and while the site is up and running, we have observed that for a couple of page types am not able to get to the CMS. There is error in DOJO and I tried debugging it and see following error.

On this page type I have a property ContentReference for HeroImage and in debugging this ModelPopulation.js I see that propertyMetadata for HeroImage is undefined and it errors out. Any inputs on what could I be missing and how to resolve this?

Load heavy page quick

Hi,

We are having this page which is about 2 MB. The page contains book time slots for our members. Right now its taking almost 45 sec. before page is finished loading.

What can we do to make ot load quicker.

Any input would be appreciated

Default Interface Settings and Making them Sticky

Any idea on how I can make these options Default to true and once selected make them sticky for that user ?

Creating new Image(Data) from other Image type

We are trying to migrate some content from our v11 cms to our v12 instance.

This has proved pretty painful, as the pages/blocks/media types have changed considerably.
Currently we have a number of converters which take an old type and create and save a new type, not really any problems there.

The paln is to take a start page and convert that, working around all its properties - creating any content which any of its properties reference (blocks/other pages/images etc) - save the old references along with the new ones to avoid creating them twice, then start working down the list of child pages

However, when it comes to content references and more specifically Images things appear to be a bit more complicated.
if I have an old ImageFileOld type say - which inherits from ImageData and looks like so:

however, this doesnt seem to be enough. pretty sure we have set all the properties we can. Do I instead need to do something ddirectly with the blobprovider or ..??

Unable to invalidated FIND (Search & Navihgation) cache results with a dependency (cacheDependencyKey) in CMS 12/.NET Core

In CMS 11 CacheDependency used to do the job for me

and invalidate the cache on PublishingContent event of the page

As CacheDependency is not supported in .Net Core/CMS12

I am trying to invalidate the cache using the above code on the PublishingContent event but the FIND cache doesn't get invalidating. I have gone as far as removing all the FIND cache keys from MemeoryCache but still don't get the correct results.

Can someone help in solving this issue?

I followed the docs at https://docs.developers.optimizely.com/content-management-system/docs/property-value-list but I can't get my custom editor to work witin a list using ListItemUIHint.

I have a custom inline block type defined as this:

public class EstateIdentifierProperty : BlockData {
    public virtual string? Identifier { get; set; }
    public virtual string? Description { get; set; }

For which I have created a custom property editor which I register like this.

I then added this property to my page

    [Display(Name = "Single Custom Editor", Order = 4)]
    [UIHint("EstateIdentifier")]
    public virtual EstateIdentifierProperty? EstateIdentifier1 { get; set; }

Which in turn renders my custom editor fine as seen below.

Now I want to have multiple of these so I tried using the new "ListItemUIHintAttribute" to get this editor in a collection like this.

    [ListItemUIHint("EstateIdentifier")]
    public virtual IList<EstateIdentifierProperty> EstateIdentifiers { get; set; } = new List<EstateIdentifierProperty>();

But this just renders a plan editor like below.

Is this supposed to be supported with "ListItemUIHintAttribute"? If it is, what am I missing?

Setting up content editing for an externally hosted frontend breaks images in edit mode.

If you configure the CMS to use an external frontend site (to enable on-page editing on the externa site), images will break at some places in edit mode. Thumbnail images for example.

Configuration:

services.ConfigureForExternalTemplates();
services.Configure<ExternalApplicationOptions>(options => options.OptimizeForDelivery = true);

Thumbnail images will get this url

https://my-frontend-host.com/EPiServer/CMS/Content/globalassets/test-assets/hero.jpg,,62/Thumbnail?epieditmode=False?1695142172388

my-fronend-host.com is the frontend site, not the CMS site.

I have tried to set the CMS-hostname to type "Edit", but that didn't help.

Is this a bug, or did I configure something wrong?

Archive page function does not work properly

Hi,

We recently upgraded from CMS v12.17.1 to v12.22.7 and have now noticed that archiving pages does not work properly anymore. The issue seems to come and go (according to our editors) and we developers haven't been able to reproduce the error yet. Running the same code but with the old version (12.17.1) does not give any errors during archiving. We've also verfied that the error occurs in at least v12.22.5 and v12.22.6 as well.

Here's and image of the error message our editors see when they hit the "Save" button in the archive popup:

Any ideas what might be causing this?

Number of Images Upload Limit

Hi,

I have never had to do this before however, I want to be able to upload 1000 images at once.

I thought this should be straght forward and that I can just drag and drop all the images into the image panel.

However it appears there is a maximum limit for the number we can upload at once, I presume 20 is the max.

Does anyone know the limit and if it is possible to override?

BusinessManager.Delete() doesn't work

Hello,

I would like to implement a function for deleting users. For this purpose, I have written the following piece of code:

Apart from the BusinessManager.Delete() method, I also used other methods:

BusinessManager.Delete(entityObject);

var contact = entityObject.CastTo<CustomerContact>(null);
contact.DeleteCustomerContactOnly();

Each of them was returning a Null Exception. After debugging, I noticed that this is happening because the MapUserKey class has a empty "_converters" list. It's worth adding that when I call the MapUserKey class explicitly in my application, it works correctly, and the "_converters" list has 5 elements.

Stack Trace:

Catalog import and DisableVersionSync bug

Hi,

I have found a bug or at least to me some unexpected behaviour of the use of DisableVersionSync="true" when using the Catalog Import. We are using commerce.13.16.x, but since the latest commerce tag in the forum is commerce.13.15.x I have tagged the post with this.

If DisableVersionSync is enabled in appsettings the related entries in the [ecfVersionProperty] are not updated when using the Catalog Import. Only the [CatalogContentProperty] table is updated.

The consequence of this is that the ContentLoader/ContentRepository, if no specific version is requested, returns the latest data. The Catalog UI however shows the latest data from the [ecfVersionProperty] table and hence it does not show the latest data to the editor.

What is even more unfortunate is that it has the "unintended" consequence that if an update is made on a single property through the Catalog UI, the property values in the [CatalogContentProperty] table are updated with all of the latest values from the [ecfVersionProperty] thereby overriding the latest data for all properties.

Steps to reproduce
1. Set DisableVersionSync="true"
2. Import a catalog.xml with variation entries.
3. Do a property update in the Catalog UI on a variation.
4. Import the catalog.xml again.
5. See that in the Commerce Manager the value of the updated property has been updated to the value in the catalog.xml.
6. See that in the Catalog UI the value of the updated property has not been updated.
7. Update another property on the variantion in the Catalog UI.
8. See that in the Commerce Manager the value of the originally updated property has been updated to the value which is was updated to through the Catalog UI in step 3.

Cannot see when a scheduled job started

For scheduled jobs that run for a while, like the Search & Navigation Content Indexing Job, it would be really nice to see when the job started and possibly how long it has been running.

Unable to move page to trash because of sql timeout

The stored procedure [ecf_GetContentReferencesInCatalog] is timing out when moving a page to trash.
We have updated CMS from 11.21.x to 12.22.x, I assume that this stored procedure is new?

For your info, we have about 9 000 000 entries in the table CatalogContentProperty, which is used in the stored procedure.

Is there any solution to move forward?

EPiForms steps/input fields is missing

I got a problem when fetching a form block from the Content Delivery API. For example, when I call the API like this: https://localhost:5000/api/episerver/v3.0/content/2542?currentPageUrl=/page&expand=*

The response contains the formModel with template and assets, but the problem is that in the template the "Form__MainBody"-div is empty. I have checked in FormContainerBlock.cshtml and it seems like the Model.Form.Steps there is empty so no input fields are showing.

I have read on this page: https://docs.developers.optimizely.com/content-management-system/v1.5.0-content-delivery-api/docs/content-delivery-api-and-optimizely-forms , that you need to send a parameter named currentPageUrl equal to window.location.pathname or or it could lead to errors like the form steps not showing, similiar to my problem.

For the form it self I have tried with both adding steps elements and without them.

I'm grateful for any response!
