How to make sure the ExternalUrl is added to the Index?

I have a find search with a facet filter. After selecting a filter, the results from the index are returning the querystring and id of a page insted of the friendly url.

When I explore the index in the admin the "ExternalURL" is empty...

How do you make sure the ExternalUrl is added to the Find index?

Could you post your code for the search request? Also, what version of the CMS are you using?
