Unable to upload media

Hi,
We are currently unable to upload any media files for a specific CMS instance. The following error occurs every time: http://i.imgur.com/tPrqOCY.jpg
It used to say ContentType '14', however that type wasn't used anymore so I removed it. It then started saying ContentType '1' instead. '1' is SysRoot, so I don't feel like removing that.
It seems like it can't find a correct content type for the image being uploaded, but we're not really sure what is causing this.
Please note we have tried uploading a myriad of different formats and they all give the same problem.
Any help would be appreciated.
