Internal Links and Automatic language selection

Vote:

Hello!

We have a customer site implemented in EPiServer 7.1 with integration to Commerce 1 R3. Our site and webstore have been configured to use 2 languagecultures, where the default is en-US, the other content language being zh-CN (chinese). The languages configured in CMS admin are in the order of en-US (default language), zh-CN and lastly English which is a requirement of CMS itself.

Now we have a problem with automatic language selection in Rich Text Editors internal links - sometimes internal links from en-US pages are being created to link to chinese contents. To be more precise:

  • We have content page with en-US language setting.
  • The page contains a block with a Xhtmlproperty, and the block language is set to en-US.
  • The content editor edits the content of the block in TinyMCE and creates an internal link pointing to a internal page and chooses "Automatic" from the language drop-down.
  • Somehow the link in published content is pointing to chinese version of the page, like http://www.somesite.com/zh-CN/destination-page.

How does the automatic language selection in the link actually works? or should we in fact always select the desired language?

This is a bug in CMS7 (#109032) (it is not present in CMS7.5) that has been been fixed. The fix will be part of patch5 to CMS7. If it is urgent contact support.

We're currently facing a similar issue with an internal link which language is set to automatic. The XHtmlProperty has a number of internal links set up - some of them are directed to a correct language site and some aren't. The issue doesn't seem to occur all the time - from time to time the links point to the correct target.

The site version on EPiServer CMS 7.1 with patch4. The environment is load balanced. The behaviour is the same when I browse the sites locally on both of the frontends - so the issue on-off feature should not be caused by this.

Does this fall under the same bug, if yes then when can the patch5 be downloaded?
