Have you tried using a page as a container instead? Is it the same result?
Hi,
Given a page with a content area, I would like to be able to place a block (Block A) containing another content area on that page, and place other blocks within the Block A content area. A concrete example could be an image slider, i.e. Block A being the image slider container responsible for including all necessary scripts/styles, and each element in the slider being a separate block.
This is certainly possible out of the box, but the experience for the editors leaves something to be desired.
The problem is that to edit any of the items in the slider or change their position, the editor will have to first edit the container block, which will take them to another page. After which they can then choose to edit any of the items, but that will take them to a third page.
Ideally the editor would be able to chose an item to edit in a nested content area directly from the page, but I just don't see how this is possible.
http://joelabrahamsson.com/custom-rendering-of-content-areas/ and http://world.episerver.com/Blogs/pezi/Dates/2013/5/Create-an-animating-slider-with-content-area/ describe solutions to a similar problem, although only with one content area, so it seems like it might be possible but I've been unable to find a solution working for a nested content area.
Any ideas?
