Custom dojo property editor for multi-value field

The need is to create a tag-like custom property editor for a multi value field that supports selecting from a list with values – something similar is done here for a single value field. Does anyone know if/how the built-in category selection editor can be used? If not, is there a dojo control that supports multi value field with autocomplete, something like this jquery plugin?
