Display my value in custom property

Vote:

I've built a custom property marked with "EditorHint". The property pops up in a modal window where I do some stuff and a value is saved. But the value in the main window always sais "Click the button to edit". How can this be changed to the actual value I've saved?

I would like it to work as the image picker property, wher the url to the image is displayed in the property-field

Custom properties has changed quite a bit from EPiServer 6 to EPiServer 7. EPiServer 7 relies heavily on dojo, but still supports the EPiServer 6 way of creating custom properties by using a module popup launched by "Click the button to edit"-button.

Thanks, read the comments in that article, and seems like I'm not the only one who has troubles with the modules- and Dojo/Dijit-hell :)
Tried this example last week, but it doesn't work: http://world.episerver.com/Blogs/Linus-Ekstrom/Dates/2012/11/Creating-a-more-advanced-property-editor/

Has anyone actually managed to display the saved property-value, instead of "Click the button to edit"? Is it possible or not?
