Migrate from PropertyString to PropertyLongString when using "Convert pages" tool

Hi,
after upgrading an existing EPiServer CMS 6R2 site to CMS 7, we want to migrate some content from old page types to newly created ones using the "Convert pages" tool by mapping the properties between the page types.
Properties of type PropertyLongString doesn't show up in the list of proposed properties to map from PropertyShortString. Is this the intended behavior? Shouldn't it be possible to map a PropertyString to a PropertyLongString?
