Extending existing EPiServer project

Hi,

We have been asked to extend a site in EPiServer created by another team.  The site is live - something like www.ASite.com  (can't reveal the names at this stage).

We need to be able to 'extend' the site, but the new extension does not need to be tied to the original site.  The extension will be accessed by www.ASite.com/newextension/  It will have a series of pages which have to be usnig the same naming strcture eg  www.ASite.com/newextension/somepage.

We do not have access to the original code files so we are thinking about  creating a new EPiServer project and somehow 'tagging' it to that site.  Is this possible in EPiServer and what would we need to do?

Not sure if that made sense. I hope it did.  Any help/advice would be appreciated.

Kind regards,

Sunil

Couldn't you just create a new project with new templates etc. Import the new pagetypes and install all new files in the "old" site. Then just create a new page "newextension" at the apropriate place and use the new extension templates below that level?

Hi Per,

Thanks for your suggestion: that may work.  If it does that would be so great.  I will give it a try and let you know.

Kind regards,
