Load Balance DFS Solution

We have a 5 server environment for EPiServer with 2 Load Balanced servers, one Author Server, one Database Server, and one Search server. We are running into questions on how to handle the VPP folder and syncronizations. We need the Author server to have modify rights to the VPP folder and read rights for the 2 load balanced servers. Does EPiServer have a DFS solution for using the VPP and keeping it up to date for all 3 servers (NLB1, NLB2, and Author)?

You can use something like this: Synchronising EPiServer VPP folders using the Microsoft Sync Framework or the DatabaseFileSystem.

Or why not just put the VPP on the Author server and then let the other two read from that one?

We had VPP on the Author server and the NLB's reading from it but that causes firewall issues since our NLB servers are outside the firewall, that is why we are looking for recomendations for VPP folder.

I see, well then either go with the solution Fredrik gave or if your ok with having the VPPs outside the firewall just add a fileserver that all 3 servers can access.
