Italics formatters showing up in title

We are displaying titles in search results. These titles smetimes have italics in them for example ##xyx##. However in results they are still displaying as ##xyz## instead of xyz. How to overcome this?

Are you using Episerver Search (part of the CMS) or Find (a separate product)?
