SERVER REQUIREMENTS

Operating system

Any of the following is required:

  • Microsoft Windows Server 2003 SP2 32/64 bit
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2008 SP2 32/64 bit
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2

Web server
  • Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) 6.0, 7.0 or 7.5 must be installed as part of the Windows Server installation.

Database

Any of the following is required:

  • Microsoft SQL Server 2005 SP2 32/64 bit
  • Microsoft SQL Server 2008 SP1 32/64 bit
  • Oracle 9i 32 bit (Windows server) *
  • Oracle 10g R2 32/64 bit (Windows server) *
  • Oracle 11g 32/64 bit (Windows server) *

* Oracle Data Provider for .NET only exists in 32-bit, which means that EPiServer CMS can be only installed on a 32-bit server. Read more in the Oracle Configuration tech note..

Other requirements

Any of the following is required:

  • Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1
 

CLIENT REQUIREMENTS FOR EDITING

Operating system

Any of the following is required:

Browser for editing

Any of the following is required:

  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 8.0
  • Firefox 3 (limited support)

Microsoft Office 2003/2007 (32 bit only) and Microsoft Internet Explorer in Windows XP or Vista is required to publish from Microsoft Office to EPiServer CMS 5.

All major browsers are supported, including:
