Sluggish Visual Studio after upgrading to 7.5+

Anyone experiencing sluggish Visual Studio performance after upgrading to 7.5+?
I'm experiencing frequent UI hangs while typing, scolling, etc in VS 2013 Update 3 @ Windows 7 SP1.

The issues started after I did the following

  • Upgraded from EPiServer 7 to 7.5 (7.13.3)
  • Switched from using assemblies contained in source control to Nuget packages
  • Switched from .NET Framework 4 to 4.5.1.

Here is what I've already tried, without any luck:

  • Disabling Resharper
  • Disabling Web Essentials
  • Disabling source control provider in VS.
  • Running VS in safe-mode.
  • Opening the solution in VS 2012
  • Opening the solution in a different computer with similar setup (Win7/VS 2013)

This may be specific to my current project, because I'm not having the same issues when working in Alloy 7.5.

Any suggestions?

In case anyone wonders - I managed to get the VS performance somewhat normal again.

Setting "TEMP" and "TMP" paths in Windows' environment variables to a local disk (and not a network disk, as in my case) helped quite a bit.

Why I suddenly got these issues after upgrading my solution to 7.5 I'm not sure of. It may be a coincidence
