XHtmlstring property on other Tab makes changes undetected

I have an XHtmlstring property on another Tab than the standard SystemTabNames.Content.
When I navigate to the properties in CMS > Properties view, and I change the value of the property, no green lining apears around the tinymce control, and changes are not detected by the system so the publish action doesn't become available.

All the XHtmlstring Properties on the Content tab work, all on other tabs don't. 

When I navigate to On page edit view and back the Properties do work for some reason. Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be here?
