Search not working in Editmode error 401

Hi this ought to be some configuration issue I thing?

In our developmentenvironment in editmode, search the one located in the left menu works as expected, but in the stageenvironment it does not. (We have not installed EPiServer CMS Search we are using EPiFind as an external searchengine)

The error when doing a search gives "The remote server returned an error: 401 (Unauthorized)" what could be the issue?

It is the search in editmode that fails. It should not have something to do with EPiFind.
