Strange but that has probably nothing todo with episerver. Most likely it is an issue with you installation or something bad in the project setup. Could you try to create a complete vanilla epi project or asp.net project and try the same. If everything is working with the vanilla epi project then you have something wrong in your project.

You could try to change the portnumner in your project settings to another and run the solution again.
