Extreme poor performance of "Form Submissions Cleanup" Schedule Job

Vote:

EPiServer Forms: 4.25.0
EPiserver CMS: 11.12.0

For us, 'Form Submissions Cleanup' job takes 45 mins and more

Consumes 45% of DTU. Wondering is it same for any of you also?

(Investigations are in progress)

Best Regards

Forms are stored on DDS so if you have a big number of forms submitted and if a considerable amount of that need to be deleted, it will be slow. Not saying 45 minutes is totally fine, but it sounds to me it is kind of "reasonable range"

Hi guys,

I know this is an old Thread, but I have a similar experience and did not want to start a new thread.

Current versions for CMS and Froms:

EPiServer.Forms.UI 4.27.1.0

EPiServer.CMS 11.14.2.0

The "Form Submissions Cleanup" job runs for over 12 hours, retention is currently set to 30days. There is around 300 form submissions per day. Is this performace to be expected?

What are the steps we can take to try and lower the performace and cost considerations? Your advice and guidance will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Quan,

In our case it took 451 m to clean up just 94 expired forms. The amount of time increases as the larger clean up is required.
Is there any update on that bug?
Is there a ticket we can track/review progress to see if we can fix this?
Thanks.

the bug is AFORM-2579 and should be fixed in Forms 4.30.3

we are working on it but creating indexes for tblBigTable would also help a little bit.

Completely agree with you Diep. We created index on tblBigTable and that helped a lot in performance.
Quan Mai - Mar 27, 2023 10:28
A word of warning - tblBigTable -i.e. DDS can be very rigid on which indexes that can be added to which columns. you should be careful

@Diep Nguyen, Can you please provide an example for creating indexes on tblBigTable?

It is better that should wait for our team to fix this addon.
Thanks.
